Being the community-voluntary sector representative on a forum can sometimes be a lonely place:

• You are sat there and asked for the view of the sector - how can you speak for so many diverse organisations?
• Other members of the forum or partnership have back-up support and knowledge as representatives of large statutory agencies
• Help - how do I keep up with the jargon and initials?
• How do I feedback to relevant organisations across the sector?

Does the above sound familiar? The Leadership and Representation strand will address some of these issues. The CVS Group intend to:

• Create a database of who represents the sector on the many forums and partnership that work at County or quadrant level within Hertfordshire
• Publish a directory of representatives
• Develop terms of reference for sector representatives and a format to elect sector representatives when required
• Implement a system that enables two-way communication between the forum/partnership representatives and those with an interest in the subject in the community-voluntary sector
